About the environmental figures
The numbers on the front page are estimates, not measurements. This page explains how they are worked out, and what they do not tell you.

How it is worked out
We do not weigh the toys. The weight is estimated from two choices the giver makes anyway when writing the listing: how big the toy is, and what it is made of.
weight = base weight for the size × material factor
CO₂e = weight × emissions factor for the material
The figures are locked when the listing is published. If the factors are adjusted later, that does not change the accounts for toys already passed on.

“Mixed” counts as plastic
A box of mixed contents is mostly plastic in practice, and keeping it out of the headline figure would have made that figure smaller than reality. The choice is deliberate, and it is stated here rather than left hidden in a formula.
What the figures are not
The factors are working estimates based on ordinary material data. They have not been verified against a life cycle assessment, and they take no account of what would otherwise have happened to the toy. The figures say how much material is kept in circulation — not how much emission has been saved in an audit.
