Who you are entering into an agreement with
Oppat is operated by Little Red Hen AS. Little Red Hen AS is the party you contract with, and the party answerable for the service.

What the service is — and what it is not
Oppat connects people who want to give away used toys with people who want them. Everything given away is free.
We are not a party to the handover. We own none of the toys, we do not inspect them, and we are not present when they are collected. The agreement about a toy is made between the giver and the receiver, and it is theirs.
Who may use the service
You must be over 18 and have your own account. You may not create an account on behalf of someone else, and you should not hold several accounts. The details you provide must be correct — your postcode decides which toys you see first, and a wrong one only displaces you.
Everything is free
You may not charge for a toy you give away — not in money, not in exchange for something else, and not as a fee for collection. Asking for payment breaches these terms, and is something you should report if you come across it.
What you may give away
Used toys in sound condition. They should be intact enough to use and clean enough to accept.
Do not list toys recalled by a manufacturer or an authority, toys with a known safety defect, items that are not toys, or anything unlawful to give away. As the giver, you are the one answerable for the toy being safe to use.
Request, reservation and collection
A request is not a reservation. The giver approves manually, and until then the toy remains open to everyone. If the giver approves, the toy is reserved for you and the other requests are declined.
The deadlines are fixed: an unanswered request lapses after 48 hours, and an approved reservation after 72 hours without a confirmed handover. The toy is then listed again.
You may have 2 active requests at a time, and collect up to 4 toys within seven days. The limits exist so the service serves the neighbourhood rather than resale.
For the first 24 hours, a new toy is reserved for people in the same municipality as the giver.
Confirmed handover
Either party can confirm that the handover took place, and one confirmation is enough — both were there. A confirmation cannot be undone, and it counts towards the environmental ledger.
Karma and ratings
Everyone starts at 100 karma. You lose 3 points if you cancel an approved reservation or delete a listing someone has already been approved for — a collection has then been agreed, and the other party has arranged around it. Below 50 points you cannot reserve further toys.
After a completed handover, both parties may leave a rating, for 30 days. A positive rating adds one point. A negative one costs nothing — it is a signal to us, not a penalty we hand out automatically.
Messages
The conversation belongs to the reservation, and opens only once the giver has approved. If the reservation falls away, the thread is locked: it remains readable, but no further messages can be sent. Use it to arrange the collection.
Reporting and moderation
You can report a listing or a user. A report hides nothing by itself — it joins a queue that a person reads. We may remove a listing and suspend an account for breaches of these terms. The person reported is not told who reported them.
The photos you upload
You must hold the rights to the photos you upload, and they should show the toy — not people. You keep your rights. You give Little Red Hen AS permission to display the photos in the service for as long as the listing is up.
Liability
The service is provided as it is, free of charge and without a guarantee that it is always available. We are not answerable for damage or loss arising from a toy or from a handover between two users — that is a matter between them.
This does not limit liability we cannot disclaim under Norwegian law, such as for intent or gross negligence on our part.
Deletion and suspension
You can delete your account at any time from your profile. We may suspend an account for breaches of these terms. If the account is deleted, your personal data is removed — see the privacy policy.
Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. For changes of consequence we will tell you before they take effect. The date at the top shows when they were last changed.
Governing law and disputes
Norwegian law applies. If you disagree with something, get in touch first — most things are settled there. If we cannot agree, the matter may be brought before the Norwegian Consumer Authority or the ordinary courts, with Oslo District Court as the legal venue.
